Takalani Skills Academy is an MICT SETA accredited training company offering services in the following areas:

End-user computing

System support

Technical support

Data management

Cyber security

Business analysis

Artificial intelligence

Big data and analytics

Machine learning

Database administration

Programming

The Aim

is to convert unemployed youth into ICT graduates with bright prospects of success in employment and contracting opportunities.  Why do we focus on this? Because technology and technology enablement is the future of work. With the growing influence of technology in everyday life and in the execution of services, it would remiss of us not to target youth competence in this area as we aim to effect sustainable skills acquisition.

Training Delivery Approach

Takalani Skills Academy utilizes a blended approach to training that is underpinned by Google Classroom. This approach has served us well as the Covid pandemic took hold, and has allowed the Academy to pivot its business, driving it straight into the 21st century.

Target Market

We are intentionally located in the West Rand. The West Rand is a former mining hub in Gauteng that is no more. As a consequence, poverty and dilapidation have taken a stronghold resulting in scores of unemployed matriculants.

Takalani works with various stakeholders to skill and sometimes re-skill young people with a view to re-direct them to new careers or to careers they otherwise have not thought to pursue.

X-Factor: Dual Language Content Delivery

At Takalani Skills Academy, mother tongue instruction is of critical importance. We believe that it is important that our trained facilitators have dual language competency as far as possible…because some concepts just ‘click’ better when explained in ones mother tongue.

This is perhaps the most critical and most effective arrow in our arsenal because we believe that expertise in any field, is not a consequence of English mastery, but, simply a consequence of content mastery…regardless of language delivery.
